Swapping out HDDs with an OS on them

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I have a 500gb hard drive with my OS on it at the moment and it is very full. I also have a spare 1TB with nothing but windows 7 on it. Would it be possible for me to move my important things (photos ect) from my 500gb onto my other internal 1tb in the computer at the moment and then just swap the 500gb for the 1tb? or would it not be that easy. Hope this makes sense. My computer is just horridly slow as I have about 14gb worth of free space on that hdd and I hardly ever use anything on it as I have a 2 other 1tb HDDs in my case with games and movies ect. I would just like the extra space of a 1TB and since I have one with windows 7 already sitting there I thought I could just use that.
Thanks guys

So what you want is move your photo's and documents from your 500GB HDD to another HDD? I don't see why not? Or am i misunderstanding it?

why not get a copy of ghost or acronis and do a disk copy from the 500 -> 1tb, then format the 500 and use it as a storage drive?

Yeah ofcourse thats possible smile.gif
Just copy/paste or cut/paste all the files to another HDD rip your old one out put new one back in and move your files back or leave them... doesn't really matter.
