Extra Life: Children's Miracle Network charity

Hey guys,

I'm new to the boards, but saw this page and wanted to post about a charity I participate in called Extra Life. This charity was started by Sarcastic Gamer as a way for gamers to help out in their communities by raising funds and pledging to play video games for 24 hours straight on October 20, 2012. All proceeds go directly to the hospitals involved.

I participate because the year before last, my cousin's wife had a baby that was addicted to heroin. Because the baby is not my cousin's, my familiy became wrapped up in the minutia of cheating and things of that nature, and everyone seemed to forget that there was a baby involved that hadn't asked to be in the hospital dealing with these issues. So I wanted to do something to help and raising money for CMN seemed like a great way to do it.

I'd like to ask anyone who is willing to please donate to help me help out Children's Miracle Network so children like my cousin's wife's baby can get the help they need. Also, I'd like to ask anyone interested in playing multiplayer online to let me know, I need all the help I can get to stay awake. I'll be playing mostly on PS3 and PC, Thanks to all, you can find the link to my fundraising page below

This is an awesome charity event. In my city (Roanoke, VA), the conference room in an holiday inn is being used so local high school and college students can come and participate. It's fun, rewarding, and most importantly, for a great cause.thumb.gif

Every time there is some charity event, I actively participate in these events and donate certain amount for a good cause.

This will be a somber Extra Life for me this year. This started out as a tribute to baby Emma, but it turned into a memorial last week. Emma was born with an infection that broke her heart. Consequently, all our hearts were broken, too. She passed on despite two months of battling.

If you're not planning on participating in Extra Life, please find a gamer near you and support them.
