550W-ish Modular PSU?

Thread Starter
I'm looking at doing some cable sleeving in the future. This is something I'm new to, so I definitely want a fully modular PSU. Processor is i7-3770k, GPU is an NVidia GTX 670--it works out to 500w precisely using the calculator at extreme.outervision.com. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a US supplier for my first-choice unit, the be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W, and Google has been remarkably unhelpful. Does someone know of a US supplier? Or alternatively, a different PSU?

I personally love my silverstone PSU that i have in my sig rig - fully modular, you can even buy replacement short cable kits [which I have, they are perfect!], works perfect in my mITX case smile.gif

Meergh, my build is rated right at 500W--I'd be a little nervous not having a few watts of leeway, and I'm not seeing a 600W version of that.

Provided, of course, I worked up my build right in the calculator...

3770K & a single 670 sum up to below 300W (counting the rest and some consistent overclocks you might approach 350W).... any solid 400W (or above) unit will suffice for that build (the Strider Plus 500W is rather poor though, you'd be far better off with their new SFX Gold unit).

Even with the video capture card and modest overclocking? Man, I borked the thing bad...

What specific video capture card?

This is the one that was recommended to me. It will probably be added to the build ca. December-January. The recording software is apparently not that great, but I have little interest in recording, just in livestreaming.

There are also two LED fans in the case (I may add more or switch these out for a different colour at a later date), and my mouse draws power over USB, so I accounted for that.

You accounted far too much for that if you end up at 500W smile.gif.... that card consumes literally nothing (worth adding to the total)... you'll be perfectly fine with a 400W unit (or above).

Thanks, guys--ended up going with this SeaSonic 560W. It's fully modular and has lots of good reviews.

It's a real shame about the be quiet! ones not being available in the US anymore--I emailed them and they said they currently had no US distributors.
