Conroe build suggestions.

Thread Starter
Calling Chozart..... I have a buddy in the UK who has a $2000 budget for a new build. I'm suggestion Core 2 Duo. Can you put together a build for him including CPU, Cooler, GPU, Mobo, Memory, and case.

Thanks for the input.

I'll assume 1,000 British Pounds give or take (based on the current exchange rate).

Edit: take 1 (just picked a fairly random case, and included a new PSU, which he might need with that 8800 )

Net Total £839.18
Carriage £12.49
V.A.T. £149.04
TOTAL £1,000.71

If he has a good PSU (Quality brand 500W unit with over 30A on the 12V rails), then you might consider an E6600

Nice one also Boredom.

I definately agree with the Tuniq Tower as cooler! I would get the retail CPU for warranty reasons.

Modular PSU? mmm did not expect that from you What do you think of the 650W silverstone?

I'd definately get the Lian Li case, but that's a matter of taste.. I just aimed for a nice round number

I have nothing against modular, I'm confident that the guys who designed the M12 compensated for the added resistance.

Depends on which 650w Silverstone, they have the one by Enhance with the messed up rail distribution and they have the Etasis one with quad 18a rails
