To day its Decals placement of stripes and how to
so delivery time has arrived
yep its the vinyl decal stripes from
these ones are 7mm x 2000mm black and red
just a small word on quality control i shopped around a far old bit in the past for a decent decal manufacturer and they range from too thin vinyl to poor adhesive i personally recamend these peeps as i have yet to find a problem with them plus you can actualy talk yto them on the phone
in a best choice situation id like them painted on but mean wile back in reality were i haven't eaten for 2 days lol a good decal will do .
started off thinking it would be a good idea to set up masked up guides and such but it quickly became aparent all they do is get in the way maybe when im doing some lettering later . best way is to just keep checking with your eye down the axes like when im leveling the acrylic looking true and dips ect old school skills i know . ether that or use the wet method .
one of the trickiest parts was choosing were to place these on my case as you know from previously when i at length went to fined the correct aesthetic spot but not only that but one that is possible with the knowledge of how vinyl works along complex curves and multi angles like the sides of the c70 also i got words and lettering to take in to account so.
Along the top and front it gose one black separated by green and then one red 7mm pretty much taken from the regimental tie of the royal green jackets .
i include some flash and no flash as details are better in both depending on coloring
THE thing to start off with is a nice CLEAN surface DRY and dust free and a normal room temp < including hot bright sunlight .a well light indoor area is best . for small to medium area graphics apply a length of masking tape along the top leading edge for a guide in my case it was the start of the strip at the rear of the case .
best starting place for me as i have multiple cuts as i chose not to transverse angles as looking along the line of the axis tends to be the best tool youl ever have gods old eye balls and a light dont fail to much add some time and your golden . but be warned once that pre-mask and adhisve back even touches the surface the lightest touch and your time is ether ticking or dun .
the masking tape you applied along your back / starting point will work as a hinge work out wards from the center or in my case from the hinged masking edge stripping will need careful aliment from you starting point along your running edge to your first cut ALWAYS use a credit card type applicator wording tends to be a first place only place deal when placing the striping depends on vinyl l strength luckily i was able to play around a lil before applying pressure normally with lettering you cant .
peal back the protective backing revealing the pre-mask adhesive and sticky face of the vinyl when that vinyl hits your surface you better be happy its were you want it . then start with the farthest edge of your graphic away from your surface start using your credit card on the leading edge to work your way along.
In terms of my top of the c70 i did it a lil dif i started off as i had multiple cuts to line up i chose my starting and end points then removed the hole backing before i got to the surface got my perfect starting point slowly with the most little of touches found my end point running along the center made sure i was happy then applied the smallest of pressure then went on to my next cut aligned that up made sure they was good via the checking the axis with the old eye ball .
i like to run the stripping under a leader edge if i can to avoid the risk of peeling so at least the front edges are so
also i found it best to avoid going over any bumbs so i ether just stoped or cut round with a blade real careful like
both top and bottom edges are lapped over on the front panel cuts are at them blobs on the front of the c70 i make no apologies lol .
Gently peel off the protective top layer at a sharp angle watching for tearing ALSO FOR LONGER GRAPHICS THE WET METHOD MY BE NEEDED . witch i didnt use here
he top of the front panel is not a 90 degree angle so it may look at a glance off but believe me it aint i recon idid just about the best i could do or you could for that matter - its only vinyl
and encase anyone missed the piont of one black stripe separated by some green then one red stripe at 7mm
that's the regimental tie of the 'ROYAL GREEN JACKETS ' next time its flags and lettering and **** lol
