As to the ease of OCing, I'm not familiar with the extreme4 but it seems to have a good phase setup so a mild OC should be as easy as changing the multiplier. Good chance you could bring it to 4.2-4.4 by literally changing the multi and not touching anything else. Easy peezy.
But clearing up that clock issue is obviously on the table first.

I went into the simple OC tool in my BIOS and cranked it up to 4.4. Still have the voltage set to auto and it seems stable.

Those are my new results. Minor improvement, but at least I'm at 4.4 with above 7k physics score now.

physics score still seems low for that OC, but that could just be a quirk of the mobo or something. Make sure that when you run 3dmark your power settings are set to High Performance, in case it's clocking down sporadically during the bench.

Physics score is still about a 1000 points too low at 4.4GHz. What kind of ram are you running? Ensure that ram is properly installed, XMP enabled if supported, or manually configure 'em. Mine scores about 600 points higher AT STOCK 3.8GHz thinking.gif

Ram is installed properly. In my BIOS there is a turbo option that's disabled currently (most OC guides I read said to leave it disabled)

I'm wondering what would be causing my low performance.

What motherboard are you using? And what bios version?

I'm using the ASROCK Extreme4. my RAM is 1600 DDR3. I'm not sure what BIOS I am using. My MOBO's drivers are up to date though. To get my clock to 4.4, I just selected the 4.4 preset in the BIOS with the simple overclocking tool. Everything's stable, but it does seem like I should be getting a higher physics score with 4.4ghz.

You want that Intel Turbo Boost Tech option enabled, otherwise your CPU will be locked at 3.4 instead of turboing up to 3.8.

I am running a i5-3570K on stock with 16G of DDR3 1600 Ram(Corsair Vegenance) on the same board(ASRock Z77 Extreme 4), here is my Mark 11 with a stock GPU(1150Mhz Boost), Bios version 2.0(you can check this easily at your Bios screen, it should be displayed on the first page.

Here is another one I just runned to double check:

According to those that claim their stock 3570K scored a high 7000s Physics(7.3K is my limit at this point), even mine is not good enough. Not sure what is slowing it down but when I run prime 95 it would stay at 3.6Ghz 4 core 1.14V for 14 min, fail 2 cores then the other 2 cores of mine would run at 3.8Ghz at 1.18V.

I have every Bios setting at default except XMP for my Ram(DDR3-1600, 9-9-9-24 instead of the default 1333).

Yeah, your results look pretty similar to mine. I wonder how/why others are posting such higher scores

Yours is perfectly normal. 7000-8000 is a normal physics score. 3570Ks paired with faster ram will score closer to 8000. You're sporting DDR3-1600 and so your score is perfectly normal. I have DDR3-2400 and hit 7900-8000 stock.

Thanks, I fixed my stock Ram Prime Blend issue by raising its voltage to 1.53V, tried OCing to 1866, got it stablizied at 1866 9-11-11-28 1.6V, not sure if it is much of a improvement over my stock 1600 9-9-9-24 1.53V. At least the Rams are in bright blue heat-spreaders and fit my all Blue case mod theme, otherwise I'd regret not getting Samsung 30nm low profile that according to everyone OCs like nobody's business.
