670 sli perhaps?

Thinking of going sli with my computer? I game a lot and would like to get the most out of what I can.

Right now I own an evga 670 ftw, with my power supply (hx850) and build, do you think it would be worth it? Money isn't the thing, performance is (that quote is copyright pending). biggrin.gif

debating another card or a 120hz monitor....can't decide. probably best to get both :-) just which one first.

Any plans on gaming on multiple displays? If so then another GTX 670 wouldn't hurt at all, especially if you want to do some 3D gaming with those 120hz monitors of your's.

haven't gotten any yet, but want to get a least one....not a huge fan of surround, tried it before, was ok, made me a little dizzy.
Just want to make sure my power supply can handle it and if it is worth it.

I have two 670 FTW 2GBs on a BenQ XL2420T. Not sure what games you play, but maxed out BF3 runs at 120 frames consistently, drops to the mid 90s at worst. I attached a couple screens from 3DMark11 - Performance as well to gauge SLI scaling. Clocks are slightly different between single and SLI unfortunately.

As for the PSU, I have an HX-850 as well and run an overclocked 3930K plus all the fans and extra stuff. You will be perfectly fine with that.

If I were you, I would get both the card and monitor. But if I had to pick one I'd go monitor first. If you need more power to play the games you want then grab another 670. If a single card plays everything at the frame rate you are looking for, you saved $400.
