[Solved]Overclocking the Phenom II X6 1055T to 4.00GHZ+ - Page 9

CPUz is the only thing I've ever seen show mine as a 1070T, so no clue. DMI tabling in my board says 1075T, so I assume the CPUID is for a 1075T and CPUz is broken. Lol

EDIT:
Quote:
After AMD's recent mass-release of Athlon II and Phenom II series processors that included the Phenom II X6 1070T Black Edition priced at around $250, AMD is working on a new flagship processor that's even faster than the Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition (the current flagship), given the model number Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition (surprise!), and as always, it's yet another speed-bump.

Interesting search result, lol- mine is non-BE though. I do know that there IS a BE 1075T though.

Could be that the only way to identify them was to name one a 1070t, doesn't matter anyway. You know what it is and it's the same processor pretty much, it'll just show that you've got a higher stock OC tongue.gif

It could also be related to that the 1075 (non BE) wasn't anywhere near as popular as the 1075t BE. I've never actually seen/heard of a regular 1075t before, the only unlocked six-core Thubans to my knowledge are the 1090t and 1100t. Oh and the 960t/1600t

Okay guys, Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I put my other set of old ram back in, and proceeded to re-read the thread from the start. here's the result so far:

Thanks for the help of who I didn't thank, and sorry for not answering to crucial posts.
@Mezmenir: I don't have tRFC settings for my ram

EDIT: I know it's a lot of Vcore, but I gotta do what I gotta do, eh? Once I can prove it's stable, I'll lower the voltages.
I'm running at very very loose timings (9/9/9/30/40/2T)
EDIT2: I will have to change my push/pull orientation. it's blowing heat inside the case and my temps are waving between 29 and 43

EDIT3: Self-test 8K OK

I hope I'm not gonna jinx it, but that starts to sound very solid.

Edit4: Damn, I get throttling. for a few seconds the voltage and frequencies would drop (1.1Ghz and 1.38 Vcore) but it ramps back up after.
Something I should do?

Edit5: Self-test 10K passed! (40 minutes)
Self-test 12K passed! (50 minutes)
Self-test 20K passed!

Self-test 32K passed! wheee.gif
Stopping prime95 for now. Will start benchmarking. It has been running for 2h25min

update: The CPU definitely isn't the problem.
This is related to the ram itself, or the ram controller.

I'm trying to find the max FSB, and so far I'm still getting errors with 2 sticks of Kingston ValueRAM of 4096MB, below 1333MHZ (around 1100MHz) with the FSB set to 275 and the CPU multiplier to 10.5 (giving 2.8-ish GHz).
I'm trying at least 15 minutes of prime95 blend test right now, with FSB at 272. Let's see if it even finishes.
*15 minutes later*
Okay. So it didn't fail this time. MAX FSB = 272. Maxes no sense since I ran it higher before, but oh well...

Random Question: Is it possible to buy a Phenom II X6 off the shelves in 2011 and having it identified as "Engineering Sample" by a benchmarking program ?

I'm gonna guess you have some kinda high-voltage-old-school RAM
voltages..Thuban..
Vcore..1.51-1.57
NB 1.26
cpu/nb 1.375-1.436
HTT 1.2526
nb 1.8=1.85
vdda=auto..
er..
cpu/nb..OC that..as high as is stable..generally 2800-3200
HT link...eh..2000-2400..maybe higher if it's oK
thtat's all I have for now.
Have a fan blowing on your NB..and vrms..

Old-School high voltage ram? Nah, my Kingston is rated for 1.5v and my Corsair XMS3 is rated for 1.65v (eeek). For some reason I have issues with the corsair so I work with the Kingston right now.

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2531912 current as post time.
This OC is a lot less "overkill everything until it boots" so that may be why it works easier. Thanks to DeathONator's guide.
EDIT: Not stable. upped voltages to 1.4v (CPU-Z report).
Will see how long it holds.

I'm coming to the conclusion that my motherboard includes memory modules that are a bit cheaped-out... Because the processor itself (at least MY unit) is able to do 4.0GHz and I suspect beyond that, as long as the memory module won't go bat**** crazy...

It has been stable so far, now is the moment of faith: swapping the kingston for the Corsair and up the voltages accordingly, and see if it works.

Do they have similar timings? You might have to up the vCPUNB a tad if the timings are tighter on the Corsair sticks.

Nope, the timings are the same, only the voltage is higher. however they seem to work well under 1.5v (VS 1.65). I put all four sticks (16GB) and I am testing them with prime95 blend test.
Looks good so far *gets the jinx shield*

However I don't think my motherboard will want me to go past 3.8GHz and be 100% stable on the RAM side...
