Since I already have SLI 7900GTX's...it's a no brainer to get the i680.

Other than people with my type of rig, or psychos going 3000x1024 with DX10 and dual 8800GTX's...there really is no point.

Sorry there Robi but this is an overclocking forum and thus I consider the Intel chipsets to better at it than any other type of chipset and also Dual Card Solution rigs are a waste of money.......

Say, you spent almost $900 or even $800 for your two 7900 GTX, guess what? I'll spend $660 for an 8000GTX and now, I got a better system than one with two 7900 GTX.....so why bother with SLI? Just to brag about it? I don't know but that's why the vast majority of people don't go the SLI route. Although I'd like to have a 7900 GTX right now but for the gaming I do, this GS is plenty fast.

Thanks for your concern.

Nice to see those Super Pi scores.( I am a member there too) I use that program daily (sarcasm inserted). The link I provided actually had benches from games and benchmark software. Why would I care if super pi is 3 or 4 seconds faster? Really?

I've actually had the two gtx for many months (bought them both on release). I agree that the 8800's are far superior but I have "old" technology. When I bought them they were king of the hill (sound familiar?). Now that I have had them for awhile, I'm somewhat attached to them (given I "wasted" so much money on them) and need a solution that will suit my needs. If I had budget issues and could only afford a single card, I would have bought the same board you have been so adamantly advocating. No argument there. So whats your suggestion for a person that already has sli? You can't recommend your board (for obvious reasons), I stayed away from the nf4 chipset boards as they are terrible overclockers, I even went with a P5W DH and got ahold of modded drivers (with poor results all around).

Now the 680i is released and I (and many others who overkilled and wasted money) have an excellent solution for both sli and overclocking. Is it as strong an overclocker as your board? No. Is it the best choice for a person with sli? A resounding yes.

Instead of bashing other members' choices, you might try some constructive advice instead. It will be appreciated.

BTW, I don't need 8800gtx for awhile. I think I'll wait until next year when they have dropped signifigantly in price. For the time being, my cards will allow me to get by...

It's not bashing, just showing a couple of facts.

I still think that the argument is that this is not about overclocking but "SLI", sure the 680i is half decent but is it worth the money? I don't think so.

The asus p5b deluxe is $225 canadian and I got the EVGA for $245 (less than i paid for the P5W DH by $20, I actually made some money). Also the evga will have an msrp of $229 us as of two weeks from now when the pricing stabilizes.
