I don't remember the exact model of the original mobo, but it was an MSI one around $150. My new one is in my sig: an Asus Maximus IV Extreme - Rev3. As good of a board as that is, I would hope it wouldn't break on me. And I got a refund for my first board and used that money to buy the upgrade, so it wasn't a total outright buy.
Anyways, would you still recommend O/C'ing, even after the computer's history? I really don't want it to break down on me again, but I could really use the performance boost. Do you think that was a one-time thing?
