Will pull it all out and re-bench it. Thermal paste is arctic silver. Followed directions they provide on their website. System was completely stable prior to the attempt to boot the x6

artic silver is capacitive. it can cause problems with circuitry according to their website. use just the right amt making sure it stays within the cpu surface.

Have it back on the bench, and problem persists with both the x6 and the sempron. Problem persists with or without any memory installed, with or without video card installed, etc. I realized the error code it's throwing on the display could potentially be 09, but I don't see anything about this in their documentation. Can't remember which direction to read it from, so it's either 60 or 09. Biostar states that 60 is a general fault code, but I can't get ahold of them to ask about 09. Still stuck, just stuck on the bench now.

I don't see any issues with the arctic silver being anywhere other than where it should be. Followed the directions given exactly. Have seated, cleaned, applied, reseated multiple times, no help. I'm wondering if this sempron chip is compatible honestly, the release date is only a few months before the release of the x6 1100t that i'm also trying.

Could you maybe take it back to the shop and try a Phenom / Athlon?

Yeah, that's my next step I suppose. Really close to just selling the 1100T and swapping to intel

its your board its a 3+1 board not made to handle 125w TDP even tho they rate it at that level Im willing to bet your VRM's are gone

3+1? What do you mean? I've been running a B55 in it for almost two years. Yes, the 555 is listed as only 80w, but unlocked to B55 quad core, I would assume it would make it 125w, essentially same as an actual 955 (125w) cpu. Am I wrong? I have seen many 1090T and 1100T builds on the TA890FXE board.

The TA890FXE is heatsinked with a quality 4+2 phase layout and is part of the OCN recommended list redface.gif
