1440p is it worth it?

I was thinking about upgrading my monitor. I don't game or watch movies on my desktop anymore. The only real graphic thing I do is edit photos and draw in illustrator and pshop. Would I really notice a difference with a higher res monitor or is it more for gaming and movies?

It depends if you feel that your current resolution is not quite enough.

My example: I had 1920x1200 and i frequently used photoshop with tablet to write stuff on one half of the screen, while reading notes from pdf opened on the other half. In my scenario it wasn't very comfortable, so my direction towards 1440p was not really surprising.

You can see the difference whether you're editing or gaming. Makes your viewable area much larger.

See I already have my 27" 1080p monitor and a smaller 1366x768 monitor so work space isn't as much of an issues but I was more interested in the added clarity. Unless I am misunderstanding. Of course if I got another 27in then I could use both 27in and have tons of space but they are quite expensive and I might want to save the money for a future project.

I have another question...What is the cheapest Nvidia card that could run 3 monitors: 1 27in 1440p 1 27in 1080p 1 20in 1600x900?

This will not be for gaming basically photoshop, lightroom and illustrator are the most intensive things it will be doing.

Workstation cards are ok too.
