GTX 660 Ti or 6870 in Xfire

So, ive done some Google searching and cant find information on the performance comparison. ive been in the gaming scene for the better part of 2 years and am looking to upgrade to Intel regardless.

I have 2 choices:

1: Complete Mini-ITX build with a single graphics card
2: Upgrade my existing case to a normal ATX form factor with a single card or crossfire

Im confused on this micro stuttering thing since i havent been up close and personal to a rig with either SLI or Crossfire. How bad is micro stuttering? What does it look like on the screen? Is it really that much of a pain to even consider a dual card setup?

The reason im asking is because im not made of money and the second 6870 would be cheaper than to buy a single brand new card. Hopefully i can save with the build and buy some more games like BF3, Crysis 3, Diablo 3 and anything else that is modern and fun (possibly an Unreal game if a new one comes out soon thumb.gif)
.
My build will consist of a 3570K CPU and a Z77 board in either of the 2 builds. Sorry for being a noob but we all have questions and want real world feedback.

Thanks guys.

If you are listing a 660ti as a possibility that gives you a range of 300 bucks? I'd look out for deals on a 670 or 7950 which are around 320 bucks on super sale. 670 deals are more rare btw. Sell your 6870 and it's not so bad then. I'd just complete your itx build, less cost that way I'm assuming?

the ITX build is a little under a thousand (hdd and a few other stuff along with the meat and potatoes) before taxes and shipping on newegg. i was hoping to not go too much over a thousand considering the sales tax here in chinafornia.

i would sell the 6870 but i dont think there are too many people out there who would really want to buy one plus, im thinking of kicking it down to a brother who mainly plays WOW if crossfire isnt a viable option.
