Cant overclock my GTX 580 Classified Hydro Coppers!

Thread Starter
I posted a thread a few days ago explaining in detail what my problem was.

I got a few posts but then for some reason everyone seemed to have dropped the ball on that thread so i am opening this new thread hoping that some one for the love of God will help me.

Basically i have the following:

3 GTX 580 Classified Hydro Coppers all in OC bios mode.

I have evga Precision and Eleet and MSI after burner OC'ing software.

Now i read somewhere that the EVGA EVE BOT was required to overvolt these cards. But then i read somwhere else that it is no longer needed.

So anyway!

I have tried all my OC'ing software and i cant adjust my Voltage on any of them.

With MSI Afterburner i have gotten somewhat close to being able to adjust it but i can only adjust it up to my Stock Voltage!

I went into the settings of MSI after burner and unlocked voltage tweaking, and it is already maxed to my stock voltage!

This cant be right.

So there you have it, THis is exactly where i left my other Thread and i have not gotten any feedback past this.

PLEASE HELP! it sucks having 3 Monsters in chains. I wanna unleash them!

What is the stock voltage/speed of your 580's?

Mine are @ 1.0v default which can go up to 1.15v using EVGA Pr. or MSI afterburner (2.2.3)

a BIOS update might be required http://www.mvktech.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,26/func,select/id,60/orderby,2/page,10/

EVGA GTX 580 CLASSIFIED HYDRO COPPER's 3072MB

the website you refered me to is only for regular EVGA GTX 580's and 590's

My bad. Can you switch from BIOS OC mode to 'normal' mode? I think EVGA locked the voltage with the OC BIOS.

you really think that is the case!?

does not make much sense to me.,

I was under a strong impression, or at least im pretty sure i read in EVGA fourms that if you want the max stable overclock from this card that you need to be on OC mode.
OC mode presets your card to 1.1v/900MHz core/1204mem & locks the voltage control...which is pretty cool since my oc'ed cards need 1.15 to stay stable @ these speeds.
If you switch to normal mode, it will default to 1.0v /797MHz/1004mem I think. Then you can adjust the voltage and crank the core to higher speeds.

Are you absolutely sure?

by the way with OC mode my stock voltage is 1.1v and core is 855mhz..

This does not make sense! OC mode should be what you need to set it to in order to unlock the card. Hence the word OVER CLOCK!

Please double check your self and let me know before i go wasting my time and have to re-install my drivers because of switching to Normal Mode.

thanks

I'm not 100% sure but Overclock Mode may suggests an instant (pre set) stable Overclock boost that isn't intended too be changed. Normal mode may give you more options.
