80C for 4.5ghz 3770k seem about right?

Question as title. Curious what other Ivy users are getting under water because I'm about to order various crap to "nice" up my loop (30 degree barbs) and wondering if GT 1850's and a new pump would dramatically reduce temps. Guessing it won't but figured I'd ask smile.gif

@4.5 I'm hitting 77-82C with 1.40V
@4.6 82-87 with 1.45V (this ivy bridge voltage wall is annoying)

EDIT: The 30 degree barbs are primarily to fix a kink in my rad--->cpu line, don't know how much of a difference getting this fixed will do though; have popped the line back into shape with my fingers while running P95 and temps didn't change much. Just bugs me tongue.gif

IIRC, that sounds much much higher than what most people get. higher temps and volts

Most review I see on Z77 board shows a 4.6-4.7 OC with 3770K with 1.3V and that temperature is a lot higher than most 4.5 G most likely because all the extra voltage you put on it. Graphs have links to these reviews.

This is a review for your board(ud5h)'s OC ability at anandtech

Id honestly run it at 4.4 then. 80c @ 4.5 and requiring 1.4v is ridiculous.

I was around that but at 1.5 volts since my Intel MOBO likes to over volt the pre set OC when in reality i don't need the volts that high.

It is def normal at that rating and it sucks i know but these chips just run very hot when the volts start rising.

Looks like mine may be too. Set it back to 4.4 and it still was running 1.4V for the chip.

Will be back in a few, playing around with manually setting the voltage and will see what I get.

For 1.4v very good temps. I can prime for 30 mins and get 73C Load with my 3570K @ 1.35v but it will hit as high as 80C after 20 Hours.

So I'm finding! Was mostly lazy and temps never got above 75 gaming so wasn't extremely worried. Just bored today and want to see how much I could shave off temps and push the OC thumb.gif

Thats encouraging! Might set it for 1.4 and see how far I can push it later this weekend then.

Played around with LLC, PLL and manual voltage and have a *seemingly* stable 4.6 @ 1.32V (in bios, CPUz was reading ~1.28-1.3V), PLL @ 1.75V and LLC set to "turbo". The LLC seems to be the stabilizing factor for me as going from "high" to "turbo" made IBT not crash. That says to me that I'm riding the edge of stability, and only did 5 passes on Very High. Also dropped temps to around 72C during the run.

How many passes is considered stable using IBT? And is there a way to make it infinite passes instead of a set number of loops?

I don't have C3/6 states disabled and haven't had any issues, is there any reason I SHOULD disable them?
