What's better than Beats?

Thread Starter
Serious question. I had a thread reviewing Beats that got trolled and locked after the so-called audiophiles crapped all over it. So I have 2 weeks left to return my Beats Pro and I want to know what exactly is better in the price range.

I've tried Bose, Phillips, Sony and Skullcandy at Best Buy's sound display and the Beats blow them all away, I don't care what you say. So what's better? rolleyes.gif

Define ''better''.

I'd grab that : http://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-HD-598-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B0042A8CW2

I
know that a lot of person probably have better suggestions.

Lol almost anything. Try walking into a headphone store that has quality cans, not best buy.

What do you want them for? gaming, music, what type of music?

Take a look at Audio-technica, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Grado headphones.

Mostly for gaming and hip hop music. And Best Buy is the only place around here that has headphones you can try in the store.

Also looks matter to me. Since I got my Beats I get compliments and stares literally eevry time I wear them out. Not even joking. I want something that's recognizable. Nothing wrong with showing off what you paid for right, lol!

Those Sennheisers are just hideous sorry man.

They're really not that bad at all. They're the best sounding headphones in the Beats lineup. They also look nice, if that matters to you. Honestly, if you like the way they sound, there's no reason to cater to what so-called "audiophiles" think sounds good. I'm not saying they're the best you can get for the money, but they have a sound signature that is very enjoyable for lots of modern genres of music. No reason to go out and get true audiophile headphones that will most likely lack the bass you like. Also, if anyone doubts the Pro's quality, just take a look at the measurements over at inner fidelity. (http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/MonsterBeatsPro.pdf) Yes, the frequency response is a little unbalanced, but with some EQing they can sound pretty great.

If you're more concerned about the looks than the performance then keep your Beats (even though I think they're the ugliest things on the market)

I got some Beyerdynamic DT880's and gaming is fantastic with them, especially enjoy them in Battlefield. They're also pretty balanced in music, performing well in most areas but not excelling in one particular.
