Off-topic... did you see Canada new Plan costs? It's ridiculous! $73 monthly... geezus. Forget it. I rather pay cheap plan for calls and text. Spend the rest on home Internet which only worth ~$40 monthly 300GB 8mb/1mb.

The lightning to 30 pin does have a DAC in it, so it's not just swapping power across pins like a typical adapter. $30 is obviously steep, but I imagine I will survive until cheaper alternatives arrive.
