[Build Log] The Define Project - Page 23

Dunno why they look purple but in real life they're sort of titanium grey. It wasn't hard to remove but it takes some time and patience because these things are held with a very strong double-sided tape. So no, I didn't paint them, there's really no need to since it's a very good looking anodized finish and the default color fits great on any rig.

Thanks for the quick reply mate smile.gif Are you just using double sided tape to hold them in place now aswell?

No, those metal covers were hold to place with a tape. I removed them WITH the tape so heatsinks are clean. There's no other tape to remove. The only tape is between the covers and the heatsinks.

So how are they held in place now?

The heatsinks are screwed on...the covers will not be replaced.

I know it's been quite a while since the last update so here's a new one... motherboard blocks are getting ready to ship... they're now in the process of being nickle-plated (shot taken by Liquid-Extasy):

That took a LONG time! Are these blocks made to order?

Long time indeed. However, taking into consideration this is a very niche product, it's somewhat understandable.

They appear on the Liquid Extasy website, but there isn't a stock pile of them so I had to wait for actual manufacturing to begin. I also want them nickle plated so it takes even further delay because a 3rd party is doing that. Meaning it has ship out to plating, get plated, then ship back to Liquid and finally to me. redface.gif

That's quite the process... I can't wait to see the finished product though!
