Corsair fans, SP120's Quiet Edition vs High performance on a H100.

Thread Starter
Would the low noise versions of the SP120's be able to handle a 2600K at 5Ghz on a H100?

under a LinX and Intel Burn Test, the stock corsair fans and 5.0 OC is HOT! 100°+ i
found on my 2550K. added a second set of H100 fans and got just under 101°.
so using the newer SP120 fans from corsair actually ran hotter, because of the
rpm and less staic pressure. so holding out for the quiet edition will make that even
hotter on my system.

Unless you got a super mega golden CPU, and change the fans with some super powerfull delta fans with directional fins.. not gona happen, plain and simple

what voltage is the chip running at?

No, the laws of thermodynamics pretty much preclude the (extremely) limited amount of fluid that is in the cooler from being able to effectively transfer the heat away quickly enough, which would be the case even if it were water but it's not, it's primary glycol-based (which is much less effective than water).
Combined with a radiator with less surface area than a decent 60mm thick "regular" radiator, and you have a cooler that will run out of steam very quickly. The only thing that can make the cooler better is a thicker radiator, but that requires even more powerful fans, and starts a cycle of needing every thing to be better.
