I'm planning on ordering Borderlands 2 from Amazon on Steam, On amazon It claims I get the premiere club access which is what I want, but only get a code when you preorder? or do you get a code and then a box when the game is released?

I like having the physical item in my hand, digital is great to but I wasn't to happy not being ablr to hold my Guild Wars 2 in my hand.

Can anyone enlighten me?

If you look at the Amazon CO UK page,
Quote:
Release Date: Friday, September 21

Orders made on or before Thursday, September 20--codes will be printed on a separate in-box leaflet.

Ah I see now thank you I forgot about that page, Digitals are truly taking over, I'm going to miss that box I want it on the release or early in the morning so I can play it before I go. £4.03 wont break the bank but at least I can pre-download It.

I think people just find it more convenient when it comes to digital downloads. Not to mention, Green Man Gaming has A LOT of good deals on games including Borderlands 2 bringing it down to around $37.95 from $59.99. Season pass is also $22.95 (if you're into that, its basically "pay now, get all DLC when it comes out")

I used to be into the whole buying boxes thing, but in the past couple of years I noticed that they just lay around collecting dust so I don't mind getting a digital copy.

wish I had a box for some of my games, but since i got fios internet I can download a game from steam in less time than it would take to drive to gamespot and the local gamespot barely even sells pc games only console now a days lol.

not to mention the great deals on steam.

Hmm, I may just get the digital one, but being a Borderlands fan I may just get the £42 Deluxe edition, that way I'm getting more than just a case and a game disc, maybe I'll get the steam one I'll see how It goes.

Thanks for the contributions.

Either way, if you're buying the boxed version... it's going to go on steam anyway smile.gif it's a Steamworks title.

Yup. Only difference is installing from the disc... or if you have slower internet you can get the boxed version.

FYI: Borderlands 2 Preload is available as of yesterday! So you can actually start downloading the game from Steam right now. So either way if you have slow internet you can still get it before release (although some countries may have Bandwidth caps).

I don't think i'm gonna get borderlands 2 since I wasn't a huge fan of the first one. I wish i knew someone who was buying it so I could play it for a bit and see if I like it.
