Aquaero LT software sensors

Thread Starter
I have been trying to get my Aquaero LT's software Sensors to work, with no luck. I have found 4 or 5 guides explaining how to do it, but all the links back to Aquacomputer are dead and google isnt turning anything up for me. Here is a thread stating the links that I need, and the ones I need dont work. I was wondering if anyone else knew where to get them.

I need the "SOFTWARE SENSOR SERVICE TOOL"

And would like, but not 100% necessary "HARDWARE MONITOR 0.40"

I search all over, and evey the Aquacomputer site, But my horrid ISP wont let me translate the pages, and google hasnt helped me find them either.

The software sensor tool is now Incorporated into the Aquasuite 2012 (beta 16) itself, So there is no need for a seperate "software sensor tool" & as such AC have pulled the online Link..

I googled "Hardware Monitor" & got several links for the Hardware Monitor software, this being just one http://openhardwaremonitor.org/news/release-version-0-4-0-beta/ You need to ensure that you have the Hardware Monitor start at windows start up & that you have set it up correctly.

With Aida64 (what I'm using) You need to "enable writing sensor values to WMI" from it's "Preferences Menu"( I don't know If it's the same for "Open Hardware Monitor") then choose the Temps you want to relay to the Aquasuite, so the Aquasuite can incorporate the readings from it when the Aquasuite starts.

You then need to "ENABLE" each software sensor in the Aquasuite "SENSORS" Menu >> "SOFTWARE TEMPERATURE SENSORS" (up too eight)...

Hope this helps smile.gif

Thanks on the link. And thats cool that they are now including the sensor tool in the suite. But I am still having problems getting the sensors to work. I set hardware monitor to open at startup, and I reboot. But I cant figure out how to enable the WMI thing. Im looking into it, but not having much luck.

Thanks again Norman

EDIT: I have found this, but its a little over my head and today was a long day. Going to look over it again tomorrow to see if I can figure it out. Anyone with any insight to this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Again smile.gif...

I just Installed & Ran "Hardware Monitor" & You don't need to set up a WMI like you do in Aida64...

I'll try & explain how I set mine up, So hang on in there wink.gif...

Open up the "Open Hardware Monitor" & Under "FILE">>"HARDWARE" I Selected "Motherboard", "CPU" & "GPU" as my choosen Temperature Sensors (You can select "Ram", "Hard drives" also, but remember you can only select a total of 8 temperature Software Sensors from the Aquasuite)

Next, Go too the "OPTIONS" Menu & Again I selected "Start Minimized", "Minimize to Tray", "Minimize on Close" & "Run on Windows Start Up". Thats all I did.

When you set up the Aquaero In the "SOFTWARE TEMPERATURE SENSORS" Menu, You need to "Enable" each of the 8 Sensors in the "MODE" menu from each sensor & you will also need to "Check" the "Use Sensor with Aqua Computer Service" box & then Click on the "SELECT DATASOURCE", Then from the Pop up Window that then gets displayed for each sensor your setting up, you should see a list of Temp Sensor Readings that the "Open Hardware Monitor" is sending to the Aquaero, You then need to select which of the listed Readings you require, Remembering that you can only Select up to 8 in total, One for each Sensor..

Once you've done all that, I would Re-boot the PC & check in the Aquasuite "Software Temperature Sensors" Menu that they readings should now be there & you can now set the upper temperature limit in each of the Software Sensors you earlier selected... smile.gif..

I hope I havn't made that too confussing & It helps to sort you out.. I should really Update that review you posted up in your first post redface.gif

Anyway let me know how you get on, Hopefully you'll get it up & running without any more hassle..Good Luck smile.gif

Thanks for going out your way Nornam, really appreciate it. But I am still having problems

In Hardware monitor, the Motherboard, CPU, GPU, HDD, and all that were all already selected. And when I deselect them they disappear out of the main window. Thats why I didnt think that was anything. But I did just set all the other, startup and minimize options.

The part that really confuses me is the part about "you will also need to "Check" the "Use Sensor with Aqua Computer Service" box & then Click on the "SELECT DATASOURCE""
I will upload a screenshot because I cant find any setting or option for that. And it only shows me 4 software sensors.

EDIT: just realized you were the author of the guide I posted. Small world. Thumbs up to you man!!

Looking at your screenshot I can see that you are still running old beta 14 version, those settings are different on newer versions.

Hi GTBK

As "mm67" has pointed out, you need to update the firmware to the latest "Beta16" as I wrote in my first reply wink.gif with the "firmware V.1025" http://aquacomputer.de/software.html?file=tl_files/aquacomputer/downloads/aquasuite/aquasuite_2012_setup.exe

You should end up with a "Software sensor" set up screen something like this

Softwaresensorset-upscreen.png

You Need to make sure you have the CPU,GPU, HDD e.t.c (or which ever ones you want to monitor) selected in "Open Hardware Monitor", I just listed what I had selected in my previous post to get it too work so I could Advise on how to get things running. As I'd not used Open Hardware Monitor for the Aquaero before smile.gif..

Anyway, Update the Aquaero Firmware *with the link above* & you should be good to go. Remember though, That updating to the latest firmware you will not be able to save your present Aquaero settings (Profile). Once you have updated to V.1025 "beta 16" & set everything up as you want again, then you can Save a Profile & it should then be OK to import this newly saved profile with future updates that Aqua Computers bring out in future smile.gif.. Good Luck smile.gif

Thanks for the thumbs up thumb.gif

Ah sweet thanks guys, I got it working. Like you said I must ahve been running an older version of aquasuite, not sure how I got itthough lol. Everything seems in order now, and the software sensors are working without me even rebooting after installing Aquasuite. I really appreciate your help Nornam and MM67, makes this Aquaero so much more handy!!

I have one more question guys while we are here. I have an Frozen_Q Liquid Fusion reservoir with a cold cathode in it. Can I somehow hook up the inverter for it, to a relay on the Aquaero so I can use the program to turn it on and off?? I have 6 fans on my side panel, and I have it so that when you take off the side panel, all the fans disconnect(via a modded 8 pin extension re purposed for this). And ultimately I would like for my reservoir to light up when I take the panel off as well, without me having to turn on a switch manually.

If it takes less than 1A then you can use relay or PWM outputs, I for example have some of these connected to PWM outputs : http://www.aquatuning.co.uk/product_info.php/info/p4685_LED-Flexlight-LowDensity-60cm-UV--36x-SMD-LED-s-.html

Not sure how to messure it, but looking around the net, I see ratings from .3 amps to .7 amps for 12" cold cathode. So I would say I am safe on that part, since its shorter and I will only be doing one...for now.

So whats the difference between the relay and PWM?? Do I need to use an inverter still if I use PWM?? And I just remove the switch and attach the two wires to the correct pins right??

EDIT: I am planning on getting an AC RGB LED for my AC Filter to signal temperature, but that should be more plug and play I believe
