Cameras in Tvs these days?

Before the age of LCD. I heard that companies were going to put micro cameras in LCD Or HDTVS back then.
Just to satisfy my curiosity has anyone ever opened or discovered such hardware in the television sets?
Prolly an urban legend but its one of those things I've wondered about but never really looked into myself.

I did find this link.

There's also poison in your food planted by the government for mind control. Actually that's a lot more likely than cameras in TVs (MKUltra, etc). I have yet to actually see one that features a camera but Samsung, iirc, was/is working on one with that and facial recognition. Putting a camera in a TV without telling the customer would be much more risk than reward.
It would also require them to include something to compress and upload it through co-ax... which would also rely on you having cable w/ cable internet. So, it'd be more cost to them and legal, financial, and their reputation at risk just to watch you watching.

I'd lol so hard if there was one in my tv... the things they've seen. tongue.gif (maybe that's why it overheats)

Well if apple has got headphones that take pictures I'm sure the remote control sensor on the TV can be fitted with a camera and be multi functional at the same time. I'm not taken anyones word for it. I'm gonna open up my tv and make sure....besides I've always been good at taking things apart and putting them back together. I'm still going to put a blurry sticker over the sensor clear plate just to be sure.

If it wasnt that important...why am I still thinking about it ten years later ???
