Please suggest a premium CPU heatlink & fan for a small mATX case.

Hi all.

With a SFF mATX case, I want a good CPU cooler that can fix without needing to remove the heatsink every time I want to replace RAM.
I won't do OCing, but I will want good Turbo Boosts...
The manual says the cooler limitation is 165mm (height I guess with a 120mm fan), but I think I'll need a slightly smaller heatsink with a 92mm fan just so I have minimal space to work with.

I can search specs and reviews myself, but I'm not sure what size heatsink can fit most mATX boards (and cool well)..

thanks!

if you wont do any OC...stick with stock cooler that came with your cpu. its made to cool your cpu at 'turbo boost' speeds.

I live in a tropical area and I'm a little worried about airflow in small case.
But this is the first time I got a suggestion I use the stock fan biggrin.gif
If this is true, then the kinds of cases available just got much larger.

Thanks for the suggestion!
Any more thoughts?

EDIT:
BTW, the CPU is a i7 3770

There are many good heatsinks under 165mm height.
The Hyper 212 Evo for example is listed 159mm height.

Since you've got a 3770 and not a 3770'K' you as it won't be able to overclock, but only gain some 200-300 mhz. Stick with the stock cooler. Its more than enough.

What case do you have?

The reason I ask is some cases are better with down-flow coolers (e.g. Enermax ETD-TB-T60), and others (most) are better with tower-style coolers like the Hyper 212+

I was thinking of getting a Silverstone SG09 - for a large CPU cooler. height 165
Or a Cool Master Elite 120 - for a smaller cooler.. height ~60
Again, no OCing, but I will want decent turbo boost from the small cases.

Ambient temps are about 30c

Stock cooler is fine. CPU will run warm, but again, at stock this does not matter.
