Came from 27" 1080p To 27" 2560x1440

2560x1440 is by far a lot better than 1080p for gaming

The results in this poll are groundbreaking. This shows that gaming is into a new era.

First we had the 4:3 era. Then we had the 16:10 era. and now we have the 16:9 era. Even the second most popular 16:9 resolution is more preferred than the most popular 16:10 resolution. The results were much different just a year ago and it is obvious that the 16:10 users still left do whatever they can to upgrade to 16:9.

^ This imo.

Hydro...you create this thread like every 3 months...not sure what you are trying to prove to yourself. I know you think 16:9 is the best thing in the world...but it's personal preference. 16:10 is not as mass produced but it doesn't mean it's necessarily worse for everyone. Most people will just pick whatever they know of/own..and many people have never used a 16:10 monitor since it's harder to find...everyone is auto-biased based on what they bought/own/see. This should not be a surprise.

Yes, 16:9 is the most popular ratio on monitors (and should win this poll based on my comment above)..but honestly, you don't need a thread about it. This doesn't mean it's better for everyone - including for gaming.

Whateverrr. I'm personally tired of this discussion and completely over it. I swear this topic is the troll of all threads, which never seems to die. Though I guess, it provides some value to people, maybe?

Just like hardware..there are resolution fanbois. rolleyes.gif

Ignore me - continue on with the poll.

1680*1050 on 22" monitors, above that 1920*1200. On 22" monitors or more 16:10 does look better, but whatever. People will use whatever their native resolution is on their monitor, which for most will be a 16:9 resolution as 16:10 displays are rare, or if you prefer, "elitist". That fact is shown in this poll, the most commonly used resolution is 1920*1080 because 16:9 displays are far more common than 16:10 displays.
