motherboard failing? missing bio's options for no reason.

hey guys,

its been awhile since i have owned a desktop computer and i bought this for a current setup

asus p8z68 v-lx
core i7 2700k
8gb ddr 3 1333mhz ram
2x 120gb ssd raid 0
radeon 7950
corsair 850watt psu

alright, so here is where my problems began, about a month ago i had this system overclocked to 4.7ghz via the xmp and multiplier. a few weeks later i had a few blue screens... so i went into the bios to change the overclocking options and they were gone.

i could no longer choose xmp mode and there was no option to change my cpu's multiplier. those options had disapeared. i was also running 16gb of ram at that time and it also only showed up as 8gb, it no longer reconized the 16gb. however my motherboard and cpuz could see that there was 16gb across 4 dimms. but only able to use 8gb no matter what slots i had them in or what i changed.

so now i only have two options on my ai tweaker, i have manual and auto. no xmp and no option for multiplier overclocking.

Sorry, so you're missing "biology's" options? I don't get this..

Try to unplug the mains, and take out the BIOS battery for at least 10 sec. That should reset everything to factory defaults. Also, try switching DIMMS and see if the detection problem is only on specific dimms or across the board smile.gif good luck!

i actually already did that. i re seated my cpu a few times, i took out my motherboard and re seated it. i unhooked everything and unplugged it over night and plugged it all back in, i upgraded the bios and i downgraded the bios. i think the board is just no good. i will be buying a new motherboard soon, hopefully that fix's the problem and its not my cpu haha.
