Well, I got the XSPC RX120 radiator and 4 more Bitspower compression fittings in today. Now I just need the 2 GTX 560Ti waterblocks to come in from England from EK and I can drain the water loop and get this build TOTALLY under water.

Time to put all that sleeving to good use now.



First up, time to cut my own color 18 AWG wire to exact lengths. I found that using a "speed square" does a perfect job. The channel in the middle of the of the ruler part makes for a perfect place to put the wire in so that you get the same length cut after cut. With the Lutro0 Custom's cutters of course. wink.gif




After much cutting, crimping, sleeving, and pushing, the 8-pin CPU power extension is done.




A fairly simple color scheme, but it should match the rest of the build perfectly. I must say, after I learned how to do the shrinkless way to do sleeving, I don't think I can go back to the old way. It just looks so clean.

Time to start sleeving the 24-pin motherboard cable extension.




Here will be the basic color scheme. Got one side done, I'll do the other side (which will be ever so slightly shorter so as to retain the bend) tomorrow, my finger tips are a little raw from the hot sleeving.

As expected, the 2 EK-FC560 water blocks came in today. I took one out to examine it, and it looks pretty nice. While personally I prefer the "copper and clear" style of block, the black acetal will actually go better with the color scheme on this build.



Sadly, I don't think I will have time for a couple days to tear down the loop and install everything. I think I will keep going with cable sleeving for now, then install the 2 water blocks and 120mm radiator on Saturday when the wife is at work.

Well, today is the day. Time to convert those two EVGA GTX 560Ti video cards to be water cooled.



Your basic EVGA GTX 560Ti 1GB video card.




Time to flip it over and get down to the business of removing that stock air cooler.




After removing about a half a dozen screws, you can see it's not a bad little cooler.




About a dozen more screws and off comes the heat sink and shroud.




After a little bit of clean up, it's time to pull out the EK-FC560 water block and get to the real work.

Thermal pads added to the memory and VRM's.




The EK-FC560 water block is now installed. Not a half bad look. Now to do the other card.




After installing both cards and modifying the tubing a bit, here they are. I did run into one tiny issue with the EK-FX560 blocks. I couldn't use a Bitspower compression fitting on the input side of the lower card because there just wasn't enough clearance from the PCB to where the block holes where. Frustrating, but then again, that is why custom loops are more of an art than a science. You learn to adapt.




Here is another shot of the cards.




While I was doing things, I yanked out the 1650RPM XSPC fans that came with the radiator kit and installed 4 Gentle Typhoon AP-14's I had laying around. That made the system MUCH, MUCH quieter. thumb.gif





Well, the loop is now done, they system is now FULLY under water, and now the temperatures on both video cards have dropped by nearly 28C when Folding@Home. Instead of a very loud and hot 85C, the system is whisper quiet and BOTH cards are at 57C.

I know. I was going to do "push/pull" on it, but clearances just weren't going to easily allow it. Temps are still pretty good even with just "push".

The wife's happy, so that's all that matters. biggrin.gif

Do you have any problems with the motherboard being in an inverted ATX case as I have heard that some motherboards don't react that good to being upside down (south bridge/heatsink/temp problems) and I am planning on getting an inverted ATX case with this motherboard?

Nice job, finally noticed this build.  Looks like it turned out pretty nice.
