is their such a thing as a boombox with an alarm?

Thread Starter
I've had a really hard time waking up so much that I've been late to work and my boss is getting ticked off.

I've searched a lot of places and can't seem the find a large enough boombox needed to wake me up that includes an alarm. of course I can go and get a dock type 1 but I don't want that I want 1 that has the alarm in it. I'm deaf in one ear so I really need something that is going to blast me right out of bed LOL.. literally.. like a shelf system or boombox ...something like 1-200watts! I'm dead serious.. I realize this is an odd question but if you find me 1 I will buy it! Hope u guys can help me keep my job! smile.gif

Have you tried searching for "alarm clocks for the deaf". There must be other people in the same position as you.

I know when I was in halls some rooms had flashing lights for the fire alarms.

What kind of speakers do you have for your computer? There is a freeware program called Karens alarm clock that works well if you have a loud speaker system for your computer. http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptalarm.asp

If you have a phone, im sure you could get a pair of cheapo PC speakers and plug them into your phones headphone port, that may work biggrin.gif.

Insert an electrode into your rectum that emits a current at a desired time.
Phone Alarm that Vibrates as well under the pillow?
Hire a pissed off Filipino midget to jump on your bed and smack you with pillows at 7A.M.

I guess normal alarm + relay + normal boombox will work.

I have an older shelf system that has a clock and can be set to either play cd or radio for the alarm. Quick check of a few current shelf systems shows most still have that feature, although buying a full shelf system just to use as an alarm seems like over kill since for the ones I found to get one with good reviews means $100 or more

you could also look into those bed shakers that deaf people use.

or get a cat that wants to be fed in the morning and knows the alarm means food time, then the alarm doesn't need to be loud, just loud enough to wake the cat
