The differences are explained here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1302297/asus-vg236h-vs-samsung-sa23a700d/10 as well as within my reviews which I have links for in my sig

So, you are saying BenQ is best for 3D gaming?

It's the only display under 24" that has Nvidia 3D Vision 2, so it's the best by default since it has the least amount of cross-talk and it is brighter than all non N3DV2 displays.

It still has worse colours (for 2D & 3D) vs the Asus & Samsung as well as a grainy screen door effect (caused by the matte coating) which is more noticeable when gaming in 3D vs 2D.

If you can't afford the new 144hz Asus VG278HE then the BenQ is "the best" for 3D gaming on PC.

So, your current opinion is that the VG278H(E) is the best monitor on the market, in any comparison you give it?

I have read the reviews on the samsung and the 120hz asus monitor. The samsung has better color and lest ghosting where as the asus has less input lag. But really whats the difference between 2ms and 6ms ... lets be honnest here how the hell can anyone tell.

I am yet to go read all the reviews on the benQ (i'm about to right now) I know that i will pick the samsung over the asus its just a question if i will pick the benQ over the samsung.

And i do not care about 3d what so ever.

1000MS in a second
120 frames in a second

that is 120 frames in 1000ms so each frame lasts between 8 and 9 ms.

So, we are talking about 2-3 frames being skipped before your input is registered by the monitor. that is noticable.

The Samsung 700D has 13ms of input lag while the Asus & BenQ have 3ms @120hz. The difference is noticeable when comparing the Samsung to the Asus & BenQ or a CRT. Those who aren't coming from a 120-144hz Asus, BenQ XL24x0xT or CRT need not worry about the Samsung's delay.

The 700D & VG236H both have equally good, but also equally flawed (in different ways) colours. The Samsung's tend to have more gamma shift & back-light bleeding though.

The Samsung 120hz displays have no ghosting while the VG236H has a tincy bit, but like the Samsung's input lag, the VG236H's ghosting is only going to be an issue to people coming from a 120hz Samsung, or CRT, so they shouldn't worry about it.

So what would you say would be the bigger issue for gaming. Ghosting or input lag

I have no experience with the opposition, but I own a VG236HE and its amazing. There is a common problem with them though, and I think I may suffer from it in the near future. These monitors sometimes develop an entire vertical/horizontal line of stuck pixels (dead transistor). Mine has a very faint blue vertical line near the left side... but even with that said, I love my monitor.

I know i seen it on youtube and thats what made me freak out and start this topic.

Would the BenQ be a better buy than the samsung as far as gaming goes?

Both are better than the BenQ unless you want a matte screen (buy the VG278HE if you do) & you have said you don't care about 3D.

For the 99% the ghosting on the VG236H & input lag on the 700D are going to go unnoticed. People commonly point out the BenQ's meh colours & ghosting.
