Do you guys think i should wait for the shine 2 or get a filco?
im no pro on keyboards but i have heard good things about both!

thx biggrin.gif

that depends on what you want

Really comes down to if you want back light or not. If you don't really care, get Filco. If you absolute want back light, get Ducky Shine II. But the general idea is quality wise Filco > Ducky lol.

yeah backlight isn everything, but thats what i heard, filco is best quality all around

But dont filco keycaps suck, aren't they like very thin ABS plastic, the higher end ducky's use PBT right.

Also KBT released their TKL and fullsize layout keyboards that come from costar the OEM of filco, but they do use PBT keycaps you might want to have a look at that and rosewill is launching the rk9100 which is a backlit costar board.

The costar boards all should be quite similar right :S

Filco keys don't suck. Ducky PBTs are THINNER by .1mm.

Internet rumor started by noob Geekhackers.

I have a Majestouch-2 and the keys most definitely do not suck, if you want to try truly awful keys buy a Logitech G19. tongue.gif

But if you want backlight then get the Shine 2, if you aren't that bothered then get the Majestouch-2.

I can't attest the the quality of the Ducky as I've never owned one, but as a very large majority of Filco owners will say, the quality is fantastic.

For quality, definitely choose the Filcos over the Ducky. One thing to note, Filcos use Costar stabilizers and Duckys use Cherry Stabilizers. The differences are that on the long keys (Shift, Enter. Space, etc) the Duckys will feel slightly mushier, I own a CM Storm Trigger and it uses Cherry Stabilizers, the long keys feel different to normal keys, but after typing for awhile, I got used to it, so it doesn't really matter to me really much. I own a Filco Majestouch Ninja as well, I do not use it very much but its a pretty awesome keyboard, I love the front printing cuz its really unique and no other keyboard makers out there really does that, and when looking from the top, it looks drop dead gorgeous! The reasons I don't use my Filco very much: No macro, No backlight, The Trigger has an awesome wristrest. The backlight on the Ducky Shine is definitely a great feature to have but the Filcos are like the Bentleys of Mechanical Keyboards if you know what I mean. I tried the Duckys before and I don't really like the feel of that keyboard compared to my Filcos, so if you ask me, I will go for the Filcos. When choosing Mechanical Keyboards, its all about personal preferences really, I suggest you go try out both of the keyboards before buying them, try out the different switches that suit you the best, I personally like Red Switches but others may like Blues, Blacks or Browns. Mechanical keyboards are very customisable so you can get one that suits you the way you want it. If you worry about the keycaps wearing out, I will strongly suggest you have a look at the Majestouch Ninja, its really an awesome keyboard. thumb.gif
