he only means black and white taken with a digital camera. if youre going to shoot black and white it really should be on film to capture the full look and feel that is seen in great b/w photos. a digital camera just doesnt cut it

But wasn't that your point about Black and White versus a Colour image,

Its down to personal preference and taste I used a bit of iris blur with Dawn Treader black and white filtering,

yea but the thing that makes a fantastic b/w image look great is the dynamic range and all the different tones of grey. that edit doesnt have a nice range so it looks kinda bland.

this is a better b/w conversion. but it still would never compete to being shot on b/w film

the effect and the filter you used takes away from the image more than a really simple tweaked b/w conversion

after doing that on my phone i realize how awful editing shots on your phone really is lol

Editing on a phone = a waste of time lol,

I do admit it is hard to get a nice digital conversion to black and white,

The picture I edited looks a damn site better on my big rig than it does on this site or even on my laptop I suppose that could be down to screen contrast, Gamma, Color, and many other variables,
