I'd say basically as soon as the "next" gen. of consoles release, as I'm sure they're all gonna have 4+ CPU cores.
As it is now, SWTOR, GW2 are 2 examples of games that will basically max out 4 CPU cores. In the case of GW2, I get 10 fps running on a single core, 20 on 2 cores, 30 on cores, 40 on 4 cores. Enabling and 5th and 6th core gives me the same exact FPS, only difference is the way the load is distributed across the 6 cores. IE instead of 4 cores @ 100% it'll run 2 cores @ 100% and the other 4 @ around 50%.
And of course BF3 will basically max out all 6 cores of my 1100T which is awesome because it really hows the true potential the CPU had for gaming.
