Need a good cooler for AMD FX 8120

Thread Starter
The stock fan that came with AMD FX 8120 Black Edition is quite bad... First, it allows CPU to overheat to 58C during load, and second it's louder than a hairdryer...

I've searched on the net for a good replacement but all i got were outdated models which i can no longer find (such as Hyper 212 Evo / +).

Now, i found some *compatible* fans for my CPU, but I'd like to hear from you guys, if this is a good replacement.

TL;DR Version: I am looking for a silent fan, capable of cooling AMD FX 8120 with Turbo Core enabled.

The ones that are avaliable in my country are these:

Arctic Cooling Freezer 13
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2
Zalman CNPS7X LED
Thermaltake Contac 29 BP

There are some cheaper ones but I'm not going to put them here.

Specs:
Model: Custom
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit
CPU: AMD FX 8120 Black Edition, 3,1 Ghz (Stock Clock)
GPU: XFX AMD Radeon HD 6950 XXX Edition 1GB (Stock Clock)

zalman is quieter i believe, but the hyper 212 is supposed to be cooler running. though if your 6950 is anything like my 6970 and your in a mildly warm room, gpu fan ramping will pretty much make up for any noise cut down by the zalman. literally, left my pc on overnight, woke up and thought somebody broke in and started vacuuming, that loud.

Where are you on this Big Blue Marble? Helps us in knowing what local prices are.
What is your CPU case clearance? Helps us give you choices that will fit.

Coolers with bigger fans are usually quieter... and cool better too. wink.gif

Zalman make good products.

Alpenfohn Brocken is good

Cogage (Thermalright) True Spirit 120 is great 4 pipe

Just to let everyone know, I've bought a Thermaltake Contac 29BP, which is more than satisfying. It keeps the FX 8120 under 50C at full load (Turbo Core enabled) with provided thermal paste and the price was just right too!
Thank you all for the help!

My system config: AMD FX 8120
board : Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3

when I using Modo Rendering system overheat to 80c to 90c. then system cut off .
If I buy Thermaltake Contac 29BP. is this perfect to fit in my motherboard socket?
and where from you bought?

I bought it in a local computer shop. With this heatsink, my CPU temp at full load is 50C. Also 90C is very very high for your FX 8120, as max temp for FX 8120 is 61C.
