So with the link set, will my thumb screws from my CM 690 II be compatible with the threads on the link above?

Correct me if i am wrong, but the thumb screw SHOULD self tap itself if you have a slightly smaller hole. You do run the risk of breaking the bolt end of threads on the thumb screw if too much pressure is put on it.

From what ive found online, PC thumbscrews are standard size 6-32, which if you notice the tap/die set you linked contains the same size. So you should be good, and a lot of thumbscrews will tap themselves, but it depends what the thumbscrew/case material is made of. My case is steel and cheap thumbscrews didn't want to go in very well. Also if tyou notice some thumbscrews have a pointed tip which makes getting them started in a smaller hole a lot easier, while some others are flat tipped.

probably, worst case if you strip out the hole or something is just make another one (if you plan on taping over). Just dont drill a matching hole in the acrylic till you know if the hole will be ok where its at.

probably, worst case if you strip out the hole or something is just make another one (if you plan on taping over). Just dont drill a matching hole in the acrylic till you know if the hole will be ok where its at.

Exactly. Thats why I would tap all the thumb screws where I want them and mark before drilling holes in the acrylic.
