You mention a very good point mate. I have had machines in the past and I was frustrated (like you) and it turned out that reseating the RAM fixed it. I have hinging my bets that this is what the problem is. thumb.gif

Nothing happens when I try to power on. To elaborate, when I flip the switch for the PSU, lights on the mobo come on as in it is receiving power. When I press the power button on either the mobo or on the case, it remains in the same state. No fans twitch, nothing even begins to happen.

I am probably wrong about this... But, Should any lights come on (On the motherboard) before the power button is pushed? Until the PSU is told to switch on, there is no power to the MB at all. No lights come on on my computer until the PSU is switched on. (I an not refering to the rocker switch on the back of the PSU, that should always be on.)

My guess is: An issue with the PSU.

He is saying that he pushes the power button and some lights come on the mobo. I don't think its a PSU issue. He is seeing Debug LEDS flashing around the mobo at certain locations. He probably thinks that is normal and doesn't see anything on the monitor so he pushes the power button again. And the process repeats. Look at the manual though bud where that guy referenced.

You're positive RAM is in firmly and locked? I had this problem on my first build, thought it was DOA motherboard haha, sent it back and got pissed, like the guy before me said, I was angry and pushed everything in super hard and realized that the RAM was never locked into place. You'll feel a click. Also, make sure that your RAM is seated correctly, each slot is labeled as so (usually):

One more thing, did you motherboard come with a little speaker? If so, plug that in, try to boot up as you normally would then you'll hear a series of beeps. Take this set of beeps or noises, then check in your motherboard's manual somewhere there will be a page or two dedicated to this.

As for the motherboard's bios, I'm not quite sure this is the issue, I took my brother's 3570k on arrival and placed it in my Asus P8Z68-V LX, no issues.

EDIT: Just realized this picture is wrong, for our motherboard (mine is extremely similar), it should go-

Doesn't Asus have that no cpu bios flash feature on their boards though? I'm fairly confident all you need is a bios update, which you can do without the Cpu installed. Check your manual.

if you didnt update your bios it will not boot. you are using a 3rd generation cpu with a 2nd generation mobo, which will work/ are compatible, once there has been a bios update.

for the 3770k to work on this board, you need bios revison 3201 or higher, 3402 is the latest version right now. I dont think that this board has the no cpu bios flash feature. If you dont have another cpu that is supported with the bios version that you currently have, then the only other way is to order a bios chip from Asus.

Or if you just bought the mobo, exchange if for a Z77-V PRO
