I'd prefer not to ship overseas, and if I buy used I want some kind of short warranty that way I can see if it works or not, and still have time to get a refund if not. Any ideas on where to get one would be great, and yes, I do know what ebay is lol.
bad idea to go HD 6970 CF. sell your HD 6970 and get a HD 7950 OC and overclock it. the sapphire HD 7950 950 Mhz edition and Gigabyte HD 7950 Windforce are good options. In the latest DX11 games like BF3, Crysis 2, Batman AC a HD 7950 voltage overclocked to 1.15 to 1.2 Ghz can easily keep up with HD 6970 CF.
BF3 1920 X 1200 4x AA
HD 6970 - 41.3 fps
HD 7950 (1135) - 74.8 fps
Crysis 2 DX 11 Ultra 4x AA
HD 6970 - 36
HD 7950 (1125 Mhz) - 71
CF scaling is normally around 1.8 - 1.9x. But in few games CF scaling is quite poor and in few other games CF just does not work. Anyday a fast single GPU is always the better option than a dual GPU solution. No micro stuttering or CF profile availability issues with a single GPU. a HD 6970 can fetch you around USD 150 - 170 in the used market. Spend another 150 bucks and grab a HD 7950 OC
plus the HD 7950 is coming with sleeping dogs game. one of the sleeper hits of 2012. fantastic game. overall amazing value for your money . get a HD 7950 OC
