Zowie AM - looking for durable mousepoad

Hey guys,

as the title says Im looking for a durable mousepad for my Zowie AM.

I am currently using a artisan HIEN hard pad and it's just too slow for my taste.
It's actually acceptable when it's cleaned and still somewhat wet, but after a while it collects dust/dirt etc and slows down, hence why Im not looking for cloth pads right now, as they all share this problem.

I want a consistent, durable and preferably fast pad.
doesnt have to be the fastest, just above the general cloth level.

I first thought about the steelseries experience I-2 or icemat2, no idea how it's called now.
It's a glass pad, so it's as consistent and durable as possible and it's faster than most cloth pads, but sadly it's not available anymore :/, only the white version is available in the german amazon shop, but I heard that the Zowie AM has some serious problems with withe surfaces, so I did not order it.(yet)

I dont know anything about other glass pads/aluminum pads and plastic is a no go simply because of their fast and inconsistent wear.(my zowie swift feels different on every part of the pad...)

any suggestions? smile.gif

Take a look at the func 1030. Its durable and has two sides (rough/smooth).

I've heard that glass and alu pads are equally affected by dust/dirts as well. Though of course they are much easier to clean...

People are talking about a new alu pad from Mionix in another thread, maybe you can take a look.

In the topic where it was suggested people were talking about how aluminum pads have low malfunction speed(because of the steelseries SX being horrible with new mice), did anyone test it with this pad?
I couldnt find a single review that checked that mousepad correctly...

anyway, it seems no one knows anything about that alugraphics pad, so Im not gonna take the gamble,

I would go for the white icemat, but I need to know if it's true that the AM truly sucks with white mousepads...

while Im at it I might as well ask about other alu pads and their characteristics.
I understand that Aluminum pads should not wear at all, like glass pads, but what about those aluminum pads that come with a coating?! wouldnt the coating wear down just like on every other plastic pad?

I have a Steelseries Qck+, an artisan Hayate L, and a Gaming XL from monoprice.com and the one from monoprice is a really nice combo for my Zowie am-gs. I paid for the Gaming XL just only 10 bucks.

I have an issue with my zowie am and qck+. After some time of playing the lens collects some tiny pieces of dust or fluff i dont know. And mouse becomes unstable. I think its because of the static electricity and even a blow sometimes is not enough. It's very annoying when it happens in the middle of the round and u loose concentration. Did anyone expirience this? May be my mouse is faulty idk.

Yes, you need to clean the lens periodically. It's the main reason I stopped using Zowie mice.
