Definitely not durable, in my experience.
In fact, I would say its the least durable pad I've ever used. (I did love it while it lasted, though)

but those are the ones with a plastic finish arent they?
like they roccat alumic or the old razer exactmat.
(those are also probably the only "aluminium" pads that work reasonably well with my Zowie)

somehow cant imagine how teflon/plastic is going to eat away the real aluminium pads.

So I bought the Zowie G-TF speed version and am positively surprised.

It's much faster than the standard edition I once had.
Always thought that "speed edition" thing was pure marketing.(as it wouldnt make sense to offer a "speed version" if the other one is discontinued anyway, might as well save the time and keep the same name)

The pad feels like a hard pad, the base is very hard and cant be compressed like on regular cloth pads.(it's even harder than the HIEN HARD I have)

Let's hope it survives longer than the standard version...
I was able to draw white lines on my older G-TF by simply using my fingernail and let it glide over the surface.

That's from sweat/dirt smile.gif, so if you clean it it won't do that anymore. I'm scared to put mine in the wash, but I have put it in the sink. MANY people have had great luck washing their mouse pads in their washing machine, I'm just always a little (too) hesitant, especially with the G-TF's amount of non-cloth material (plastic hybrid surface, rubber base, etc). Most cloth pads will be near-new feeling after a good clean.

cant really be sweat/dirt imho.
I was basically wiping it all day long with a REALLY wet towel, and as soon as it was dry again I could draw stuff on it.
The water-proof surface was not working anymore and the speed was gone aswell.

also, I wont wash my pad in the machine, not worth the risk biggrin.gif
I did it with the old razer mantis pads, mine was stained by coffee and other stuff and basically was locked up in a drawer for 2 years till I once again used it.. I then decided to wash it in the machine and well... it was clean afterwards, but the friction had become so high it was unusable...

Well, just trying to help. I've had that on every single cloth pad I've used, and if I replaced them for that I'd be on my 20th! I usually just put them in the sink, and put a little soap on my palm and rub the dirt out. The problem with your towel technique is that the dirt is inside the weave of the mouse pad and in the nooks and crannies so there's where a little soap comes in handy.

Anyway enjoy your speed! I'm thinking of trying one myself, do you like the hardness/thinness compared to the original or is it a nice change of pace?
