Need Reccomendations for a New System - Page 3

This one is the best intel board right now.
It's kinda expensive , but it gives you upgreadability to the next 2.5 3 years wich is alot when talking about intel chipsets.....
Instead of teh raptor/s get 2 sata hd's like these in raid 0 and then , buy another one to keep as a regular drive.
You could make the 2x80 the gaming drive and the other a storage drive.
Raid 0 is better when it comes to data transfer than raptor , so it's up to you!

It's been sitting on my drawer since Day One. I play it on my current build, and playing at 10 FPS makes me happy, but I could be happier!

EDIT: Seems like a good motherboard, but kind of pricey for my grad. gift. I need to keep the budget stable, and mainly because it'll be a College Rig. So it'll be kind of useless, and then in 3 years I'll possibly just be buying one without worries on my mind.

Your going to talk about a budget when objecting to a Raptor, yet then suggested a $270 motherboard. Upgrade ability is not something he would need right now. By the time he would have to upgrade his core stuff (CPU and RAM) to play any kinds of games, that motherboard will be a lot cheaper. He could then just get rid of the P5B Deluxe and buy that one when it is at current P5B Deluxe prices. Plus, that board is new, but no one knows how good it will OC or anything. eVGA says it will OC nicely, but you can't go by what the manufacturer says on OCing potential.

If he is going to just buy one now and one later, the Raptors will def do better then the two 7200 RPM Seagates you want to push of on him. If he doesn't want to go with Raptors, he should go with these as they are almost as fast as Raptors, plus he can get rid of his old IDE drive and be all SATA. One he has enough to upgrade to another drive for RAID 0, he will have performance and space.

The HD's i sugested aren't SATA?
I didn't noticed ,sorry.
But still , normal HD's are still more reliable than the raptors , and they last longer!
Also , i have oblivion ,and my loading's times are pretty good, the game only takes like 5 seconds loading ,wich, let's be serious, isn't nothing.....
So imagine the Raid0 performance!

Guys, I seriously need the reccomendations on the PSU and the CPU.

EDIT: Im leaning towards the E6300, but still I need reccomendations.

No, yours were SATA, I'm just saying that the perps are better performers. Plus, once he starts to get more on those drives, they HDD will start writing closer the the center. HDD's def do not like writing closer to the center. The more space will stay there for a lot more GB's then with those 80GB hdd's.
