I got a Blackhawk case with two front, one top, one side, and one back. The one on the side I don't think it will fit with my cpu cooler which is a Phantek PH-TC14PE so right now I am planning on moving it to the front of my case to the 5.25in drive fan location. So, my question is should I have the 120mm rear fan as an Exhaust or should I move it to the bottom of the case and have it as an Intake?

Leave it as an exhaust as it will help pull air out of the case, keeping the fresh air moving through the case.

The air won't be as cleanly directed out the rear, creating some turbulence. You could get another fan, and have one at the bottom AND at the rear, but if it's just the one fan, I would just have it as a rear exhaust.

If I would get a new fan for the back of my case, what do you think of these two fans.

Xigmatek XAF-F1255 120MM PWM Fan with Copper Bushing Axis Black Blade White LED
Scythe SY1225SL12SH 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fan

Or do you think there is a better fan.

The Scythe fan is great, but it is quite loud.

These fans are the bees knees:
http://www.amazon.com/Scythe-Gentle-Typhoon-120mm-25mm/dp/tech-data/B001Q6RUVO/ref=de_a_smtd

I have these in my case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835226045

They provide good airflow and are extremely quiet. It's all up to you. Find a good balance between flow and noise, and something you like, and go with it.

And the age old debate continues. biggrin.gif

+1 for optical bay intake fan
+1 for bottom intake fan. Make sure your case sets high enough off of whatever it sets on to give good airflow to bottom fan.

Build a duct / shroud from back of cooler to exhaust vent... All heat from cooler is pushed out back without the need for back exhaust fan. wink.gif

Duct is cheap and easy to do. Construction paper, tape, glue stick and scissors. Any help with ducting let me know. i like playing with paper and scissors and glue. wink.gif

I don't find the Scythe Slipstream 1900rpm to be all that loud? I think they are awesome for exhaust fans, but not so good for intake, and just never place them in a horizontal mount.

If I get a new fan, the new fan would be for the exhaust and the Rosewill case fan that came as the rear exhaust fan with the case would be mounted on the bottom of the case.
