problem seems to come and go. it's random. it's either a windows issue or my motherboard. everything else has been changed out since it first began.

I would suggest testing your hardware first, hard drive, ram and such if your able. Also take out all your unneccesary stuff such as like dvd drives or whatever, just your basic ram, cpu hard drive and video card ( if you do not have on board video) and see if that fixes it. This is most likely a hardware problem and may end up being your motherboard or power supply but do what I suggested above before we make assumptions and let me know whats goin down.

Also try if you have another psu try that and see if that helps at all first

Not an assumption. I've checked all those things multiple times over the 2 years since this problem began. most have been replaced. even the mobo was rma'd since it began after my first rma. like i said, it's random. it went away for about 8 months. and came back 2 days ago.

Not sure it this helped or not. My rig used to be stable (no random restarts) at 1.4325 vcore then it became 1.4875v and now it's 1.525v. temps aren't raising much from upping the voltages but i still don't like to do it. especially over 1.5

hmm. it appears my cpu fan was the culprit. the bracket was bend a little bit causing the one fan to not spin properly.
