Realistic Power Draw?

Thread Starter
Hey guys... I'm getting a little concerned, based on all of the mixed opinions I've read.

Currently, my plans are as follows:
Corsair AX850
Gigabyte X79S UP5
Intel 3930k (overclocked)
Dual Sapphire 7950's (overclocked)
Asus Xonar Phoebus
10 SSD's
2 HDD's
full dual pump watercooling loop
14 Bitfenix Spectre Pro Fans
Corsair AX1200i
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Intel 3930k (overclocked)
Triple 7970's (Overclocked)
Asus Xonar Phoebus
2 ssd's
4 hdd's
full dual pump watercooling loop
roughly 20 Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 RPM Fans
Originally, I was sure that those power supplies were more than adequate. However, after hearing some peoples' opinions, I am a little concerned... So, will those run safely under full load?

A quality 650W would suffice for the first system, a quality 900W for the second.

Also I hate you for being able to afford that hardware.

Both of the power supplies you have chosen will be perfectly fine smile.gif With alot of headroom to be honest.

I can't afford that hardware... Not all at once, at least. But I can dream. And I don't want things to blow up in my dreams.

But I am currently building a mashup between these two systems. Then I will eventually get the rest of the parts, and split the two systems up.

Okay, good. Because someone said an overclocked 3930k and triple 7970's need a 1500+ watt PSU...

Well 7970's use something like 200W I think, so 600+200+300 for everything else, comes to 1100W, and even that's overrating it.

Yepp. I figured that guy was out of his mind... Anyways, it's nice to know that nothing will pop when I build this.

Yeah. His avatar, signature, and retired staff badge make me trust him pretty well.
