Xotic PC

Going to get a Sager NP6110. Should I buy it from Xotic PC?

A few things concern me.

Their 60 Day No Dead Pixel Warranty for $60. If I don't buy this, my laptop screen could have several dead pixels, and they won't allow RMA? Doesn't that seem sneaky..

Their "White Glove Premium Packaging" . It's supposed to give more safety for your shipment? If I don't pay for this, and my laptop breaks during shipping, what happens?

"Monitor Color Calibration" will add a few days to the processing. Is it worth it?

"Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Matte Screen" for $189.

Should I trust Xotic PC or should I go to another seller? Maybe I should buy it from Sager's website

All of these options seem like they want you to pay more

The odds of you receiving a laptop with dead pixels are slim. I would never pay for something like that.

The premium packaging is a joke. The standard shipping should be completely fine. If it comes damaged, you blame the shipping company. If you want to be sure, go ahead and pay for it. It's probably cheaper to add insurance with UPS/FEDEX instead of paying Xotic to package it better.

Calibration is a complete joke. Seriously? Don't pay for that...

Matte for $189.00? Seems a bit overpriced, but I think it's worth it if you REALLY want matte instead of glossy. Glossy will be fine, but it attracts more fingerprints. I doubt you're going to be touching your screen 24/7..

My recommendation would be to buy it from Sager.com. They have the matte type for 30 dollars, not 189 dollars. You can customize is just like on Xotic. I think you're kinda overreacting about the shipping..If it's broken, you send it back.

Standard packaging is nice if it's a short distance from their headquarters, but I'd go for the premium shipping option personally if it were travelling any farther than 500 miles to me. tongue.gif

Monitor Calibration makes the color of your screen more vibrant and can make even a crappy 60% Gamut screen look gorgeous. Mind you that stock screens are 60% Gamut.

The Matte selection for $189 is due to its higer 72% Gamut, I.E. viewing angles and color accuracy, and because it's a matte screen. Those are harder to put in a laptop.

The customer service from Sager is less than adequate, which is why XoticPC is the best place to buy from. They don't have 95% customer satisfaction for no reason. wink.gif

Please get your facts straight before spouting nonsense. >_>

The matte screens come standard on most of the laptops on the sager website. If not, they're much cheaper. I have ordered from Sager and have had no issues at all. I think the customer service is good.

You're one out of a few thousand who, most whom happen to have quite the knowledge gap over you in the laptops area, hasn't had any issues with Sager's Customer Service. They aren't the best in most regards and tend to tell you stuff that isn't really accurate. They're kinda like Dell techs, they know what's in the book, but not what's on the table. (Classroom humor ftw. tongue.gif)
