Looking for 23" 1080P IPS for gaming - Page 2

I have the Dell U2312HM and I love it. I've bought it two weeks ago. It is very good for gaming, no ghosting and very good response time. If the anti-glare coating is not bothering you then get the U2312HM. I forgot about the coating after using the monitor for the first 2 minutes.

Yeah, I'm ok with the coating on my LG IPS236 and it's supposed to be lighter than that one, so it should be fine.

Does anyone know if Dell is any good when it comes to RMAs?

Also, is there a way to disable the power LED without voiding the warranty? My LG IPS has a simple OSD menu option to disable it, which is quite convenient. My concern is that having the LED on the side of the monitor it gonna be a pain if you put 2 of them next to eachother, with one of the LEDs being between the 2 panels. Any thoughts?

My previous LG monitor also had this option, but this dell doesn't. The led is not that bright and you can simply use black marker to paint it lol. It will work and won't void the warranty.

I had the vg23ah from asus which was great for gaming , but i started noticing light grey lines on lighter colors while web browsing which eventually drove me crazy.

I suppose that would work, but are you sure that doesn't void the warranty?

Yeah, I'm not really looking for a 3D-capable monitor though; for one my 580 wouldn't be enough, and even if I upgrade to a 780 next year, I'd probably still need 2 to keep playing everything max (and perhaps in 1440P, you never know...). Considering I built this PC to be quiet, I don't think an SLI setup would be benificial to that. smile.gif

You can clean it off with your fingers. I did the same thing with my old monitor, that LED was burning my eyes out.

This, or use some black electrical tape.

I have used some finger tape (athletic tape) and a black sharpie to dim a couple of my LEDs, works really well.

I got a Dell Ultrasharp U2311H for 175 off Ebay. It was manufactured refurbished and came in perfect condition. Looks brand new. The monitor is gorgeous.

Hmm, quick question: I see Dell is refreshing its S-series of monitors and they just released the U2713, does that mean there will be a U2313 anytime soon? I'd hate to buy 2 new monitors now only to see a new, superior version released a month later.
