Tutorial: EVGA GTX 680 backplate & Heatkiller GTX 680 waterblock compatibility screw mod

Thread Starter
Occasionally, I get asked via PMs (here or from some other sites) how I did this simple mod on the screws to make the EVGA GTX 680 backplate compatible with the Heatkiller GTX 680 waterblock. I'm making this tutorial for you guys to make things easier for you to do this mod.

I'm using (2) types of socket head screws, a smaller (4-40/1/4) & longer (4-40X3/8).

1st step:
Use smaller screws here & put the washers & nuts. Shorten screws a bet just enough for the screw nuts to hold on it.

Step 2:
Use smaller screws here & put the washers & nuts. No need to shorten the length of screws.

Step 3:
This part is the time you place the waterblock. Use the longer screws here. Shorten the screws similar to the length of the screws that come with the waterblock.

Step 4:
Use the screws that come with the waterblock.

Step 5:
Use the longer screws here. Shorten the screws similar to the length of the screws that come with the waterblock. Put plastic washers here.
