Some people report PLL of lower than 1.8 to help lower temperatures. I don't really know to much about it I tried 1.5 - 1.8 and the only time I got lower temps is when I was running a lower frequency, so doesn't tell me too much tongue.gif I run mine at 1.65 because of stability when I was stressing a 4.7 clock. At 4.5 clock auto setting is perfectly ok.

I'd check your VID setting again. You don't set a voltage with offset. I think is happening is that you miss-read the numbers and that 1.05 (if that is your VID) is for idle/low load.
You need the VID for Full Load.
What are your LLC setting?

You could just start decreasing offset setting untill you are no longer stable to find your lowest voltage setting.

Im not too shure which is VID, is that the the number hsown on cpu-z when processor is idel e.g. 1600mhz? Is it is then its 1.08v and have 0.05 offset. I got BSOD so Im going to increase it. LLC is on medium.

No CPU-z reports actual Voltage used.
To see the VID you can use RealTemp.

The CPU has its' own voltage settings for different frequencies, you use offset with the VID to get the voltage you see in CPU-z.

That 1.08 is the real voltage for idle. Once you get RealTemp it will make more sense.

Hi, I have been using realtemp for ages, but dont see any voltage values or VID, anywhere. Thanks

I also got coretemp and the VID goes from 1.05 to 1.3.

My mistake it is actually Core Temp.
That is what I get for speaking from my laptop frown.gif

Ya "Core Temp" is the program that shows you the VID. Apologies.

VID is 1.3 at load?
Ok if you need less v-core at 4.5 to be stable you can use "-" negative offset to lower it.

Ahh ok thanks. I think I got it stable, but I cant use - as the bios does not even boot, I had to use 0.05 as thats the least. But thanks anyways!

Hi', I went a bit mad and overcloked my processor to 4.7 and offset mode 1.5. Total core at fuel load is 1.4. Temps get to 85 maximum. Is it safe for that vcore as I have seen people GOTO 1.5volts. If its not what's the most you would recommend. Thanks

Well there are 2 temps to consider. There is STRESS temp and normal everyday use temp.

I think 90'c is the absolute max for Ivy during a stress test.
Normal temps I think 70'c is the best target for 24/7.

24/7 90'c shouldn't hurt the CPU at all but that is pretty freaking hot.

1.4 volts for air cooling and water cooling I think is normal on the high end.
I only really see LN2 guys on 1.5 and + volts. I can't recommend going any higher than 1.4 volts on high end air or water. Really 1.35 volts for Air.

What are you using to test? Latest Prime95 client?
You need the AVX instruction stress test to make sure your temps are ok. New versions of Prime have it. There is a large temp difference from those programs that use AVX and those that don't.

I think 1.5v
