Logitech G15 removed LCD mod - separate LCD

Thread Starter
Just thought I'd share my pics of removing the LCD from a g15:

My G15 broke a while ago and I got a new keyboard. Having the old g15 sitting there for a while I missed the lcd screen showing all my gpu and cpu usages, etc,.

Why not cut the screen out of the old keyboard and see if it works?

Keyboard before

Cut through the plastic with a dremel tool:

The PCB fits on (had to file down some spots):

Probably a bad idea but whatever:

And it works! biggrin.gif

Wrapped some tape around it, but I don't think it looks too good:

Any ideas on how to cover up the circuits? I could try moddeling clay.

That's really cool. You should be able to buy those separately haha.

Yea that would have saved me a lot of effort lol

I've been meaning to do this with my dead g15 for a few months I've yet to do it because I 've not had the time. My idea to seal off the enclosure is to use Bondo since it's easy if messy to work with

bondo is a great idea, I am actually running mine open without any tape on it right now, mostly a dark room so I dont mind too much. When you do it, I wanna see a pic of the end result!
I wouldn't bother with bondo thats just as ghetto as the tape a proper case is the true solution but, require fabrication.

Hey Yukss, any progress on the old-style LCD screen removal? I'm thinking about doing the same thing, and was wondering how it went, and if you had any tips/warnings.
