Need urgent help! Palit gtx 680 4gb - Page 2

Well the story gets stranger!!

Temp PSU didnt work with DVI or HDMI on my monitor and another monitor. System still POSTS but no display. I have an old VGA cable lying around so i thought i will try it with the dvi-vga adapter and then i get an image. Also i get an image with my PSU in this config.

I cant understand how this card works fine on a friends mobo (which is PCIE gen 3) but wont work on mine with the normal outputs (mine is Gen 2 PCIE)

Anyone heard of anything as strange as this before?

my card works every output with my two monitors and tv, but at my friends's house it only works on his monitor via HDMI. his new gpu does the same thing via dual link dvi. the issue is not with your psu or motherboard. it's somewhere between your monitors, cables and video outputs on the gpu.

Yeah, as I thought, it's not your PSU or the card. Can you possibly save your motherboard settings somewhere and clear CMOS? And then try connecting only your new card (no other cards inserted) with a "normal" monitor (not your IPS) and see if you get anything. Perhaps try loading into Windows in safe mode.

Is your MB BIOS up to date? I read problem with PCIe3.0 cards run on PCIe2.0/2.1 mode and after BIOS update the cards should works.

Ok so it gets stranger again haha! wow what a mess his upgrade has been.

Ok so as you all know i had it working via VGA so i decided to use driversweeper and clean all Nvidia files. Updated with the latest Nvidia driver and rebooted. Gets into windows and now my DVI connection works!

Here is whats strange. With DVI plugged in i still dont get a bios screen but as soon as windows splash screen comes up i get a display. As a temp measure i need to connect both DVI and VGA in order to see my bios.

I tested this on a standard Asus monitor and still exactly the same issue.

@Eleven and Vuzer, Bios version is the most recent as this was the first thing i updated prior to getting the GPU. I will try fully clearing the CMOS and reloading the Bios.

Nvidia or AMD GPU?

i'm just glad that my mobo and PSU are fine. Will be testing a direct display port connection tonight along with bios reflash. If still an issue i will ask CCL to swap the card and i will change it to the gainward version. Luckily i am within the 7days consumer rights act so they have no choice really.

You only have one display device connected(monitor, tv etc)? because that issue normaly means that ifs booting on the other device connected.

I have 1 monitor connected only which is my IPS panel. when DVI is connected i now get a display at the windows splash screen and in windows itself. With VGA i get a signal at bios and windows. As i am unable to get a signal when in bios with the DVI i have had to connect both a dvi and vga up to my monitor from the card in order to get a signal from both.

Hope that makes sense.

The BIOS issue can be due to drivers and driver versions. Try a different driver version. It is especially apparent with the Korean monitors. You don't need to see the BIOS load - just keep hitting Delete when you're booting, and you'll see the BIOS when you're in it.

I know how to get to the bios its just there is no display with DVI hence why im using a dvi-vga adapter. I understand what your saying about the korean monitors however this monitor is manufactured in london. http://www.digimate.com/en/aboutus.asp

Also i have the same problem on a box standard asus monitor and a LG LCD TV which would suggest there is nothing wrong with my monitor.
