Asrock Z77 OC Formula Overclocking / troubleshooting/ Discussion - Page 16

post #151 of 1118
Does it make sense that my comp is more stable with a 4.6 GHz setup using +.05 offset and LLC of 3 over +.2 offset and LLC of 1? Both have all C states enabled and it is incredibly efficient. I get the impression that LLC 3 prevents the min VCore from getting too low, causing lockups, so by going to LLC 3 I can actually lower the offset because the max VCore didn't need to be as high as it was. With LLC 3 and +.05 offset, max VCore right now is 1.34 and min is .88.

Thanks a lot for your input guys. I am 4.2 GHz @ 1.288 V, is that V-Core voltage look ok? Or high? I am very stable. Let me know

Hey Nick, quick question...
In the pursuit of performance i have blown my CPU and motherboard where the sockets inner plastic has actually melted all can be seen at this thread, i had delidded the chip and accidentally also split coolant into a ram slot.
Is there any fix even if it costs? I'm not asking for an RMA since it was my damn negligence, i have already bought another Asrock z77 oc formula and 3770k but was wondering how much it would cost to get the board fixed?
Any thoughts?
This is the thread also-

Thanks Nick, as stated not asking for a replacement just wondering if any of the parts can be replaced(willing to pay), the board doesn't turn on anymore and the socket smells like burning HAHAAH! tongue.gif

yeah, seems to be so.

oh, well... no big deal

as long as this board works as it should for years to come, i'll be happy

same here +/- button won't stay ON past BIOS ,as soon as you get to windows .."lights out" (while in bios the D-BUG and =/- buttons are ON wth.gif )

P.S. loving this board so far thumb.gif..but..i hope my MM is massed up :wth

here is a little comparison BIOS SETTINGS/APP READOUT vs. Multimeter

vCORE=1.1v/1.115v
DRAM=1.67v/1.74v eek.gif
VTT1=1.122v/1.14
VTT2=1.057v/1.077
PCH1=1.057v/1.071v
DMI=1.057v/1.088v
XCLK=1.057v/1.088v
VCCSA=1.003v/1.02v

Triple check DRAM voltage just to make sure ..it was .070v over bios setting/app in windows
here is BIOS 1.6v and 1.668v (MM)

there is pre-set Nick's OC profile for 4.2 in BIOS ( can't get easier than this ...)
