ok, just tried nick shih 4.5ghz profile,it boots, but 5-10 secs into prime 95, i get a reboot and bsod....
What now?

The temps weren't that high for the secs it was running, did it reboot because it didn't have enough voltage with the 1.20v? Or sth else?

We dont even know what all is in your computer.

Add your components in rigbuilder, and then attach it to your signature in your control panel.

to me 1.2v for a 2500k is pretty low.

1.2V is beyond safe. I believe the processor is rated up to 1.52V max.

It does not matter. It all comes down to saving energy. Enabling intel speedstep technology and re-enable the C1, C2, and C3 reporting. That will get you back to defaults. (downclocks) To overclock and stay at a constant voltage and frequency, you will need to disable them as nicks preloaded bios configs do.

All you need to do is select nicks 4.5Ghz profile and set the voltage to 1.2V or 1.25V. I had ran into this issue and it all comes down to not enough voltage. After that is set you can run any benchmark and it should run perfect.
