Care to share your 48 bios settings?

I can get this to post/boot at 50, and run superPi 1 or 2M... as soon as i load the memory (not just the cpu) i can watch the dram V float, and then 124... same event at 48 and 49. if i load the ram to 4G fine (only tested to 49), 8G and up to 12.288g will not hold dram volts solid for 2133 at clocks higher than 47. the CPU is fine. the ram pass memtest (both adata and hyperX 2133) overnight. My 2700k/el cheapo extrene3 gen3 does better in this parameter. For example, with MY OCF, 46 runs p95 with 12.288g ram committed @1.22 loaded. 47 runs p95 @ 1.248 with 1.6g ram, 4G and 8G IF i lower the bios dram V 15mV below rated setting for 2x8G sticks... This reads as 1.648v at v-probe. The more i examine the set vs applied voltages on this board, the less of a fan i become.

Yup, to each his own...

I must say honestly My Current Asus mobo served me these two and half years without any BSOD or Hang issues except this USB (K & M) Combo detection sometimes.

I personally love this board, have a few gripes about the software that comes with it, but the board itself is very nice and for me has been rock solid and stable. I've only owned a few weeks though, so I cannot comment on durability from experience.

That said, if you love your current board, first thing I'd do is make absolute sure it isn't your keyboard/mouse that's acting up by (A) using it on a different PC for a while, and then (B) use a different keyboard & mouse with your PC. If you don't have a spare keyboard/mouse, maybe you can swap with your work PC. I ask my boss if I can swap parts sometimes, he doesn't mind (ymmv).

If all signs point to the mobo, then I'd say the AsRock Formula OC just might be the answer to your problems. As a bonus, this mobo is one of the easiest boards to get a high OC with.

Thanks again mate.. My Keyboard and mouse is fine I can say becoz I tried another set of USB combo from different brand and it's the same issue with all USB slots occupied. If None occupied especially USB 3.0 It works fine...

5GHz was easier than 4.8GHz. I'm doing 4.7GHz again this time changing LLC and Turbo voltage. Here's 5GHz

Got 4.7GHz stable with lower voltage than my previous attempt. I've ordered a multimeter which can connect to my PC so I can check the actual voltage.

Turbo Voltage: 0.008
LLC: Level 3
Offset: +0.020 (VID 1.276v)
All other voltages except DRAM set to Auto

Stable voltage was 1.272v now 1.248v

CPU-Z

These will be my settings for testing RAM, cooling etc

i feel VERY stupid right now.

i had tried LLC 2 but it seemed to make my RAM even more unstable, so i never even tried LLC 3.

in my frustration with the instability i went with LLC 3 and it seems to be perfectly fine now at 4.4ghz, so i'll be moving onward with the OCing.
goddamn i really need money for a backup i7 so i can delid this one ;/

The apparent instability of the voltage when set to offset mode is causing me grief. The fluctuations are hard to predict so getting the right amount can be tricky. My new DMM will be here this week so that should give me a better idea of what's going on. It seems that I can't rely on software to report accurate v-core which probably explains why I can suddenly get it stable with less voltage. 4.8GHz posed the biggest problem and that's what I'll be tweaking next.
